Hacienda La Amistad is a Paso Fino Horse farm that was established in 1997 by Alfredo
and Mary Rizo-Patron after each one had had a lifelong love and
involvement with horses.
Mary, a native of New England, had been training Paso Finos in the Northeast, South, and
Midwest since 1984. Alfredo is a native of Lima,
Peru. He and his family played polo and
bred Peruvian Paso Horses. He came to the USA to go to college, and soon started training
thoroughbreds to play polo, a
game in which he participated for over 30 years. Alfredo
& Mary are very active in Paso Fino organizations with Alfredo being the current delegate
for the
Great Lakes PFHA and Mary being the vice president of the Professional Paso Fino
Trainers Association and representing the PFHA at the USEF.
Hacienda La Amistad offers full breeding, sales, and training services. Our mission is
to promote the Paso Fino breed by introducing people to the
breed and helping those already
in the breed. To this effect we have in our breeding program a select number of excellent
mares and two extraordinary fino
stallions. These horses have been carefully chosen
for their outstanding bloodlines, conformation, disposition, and gait. We aim to produce
top quality horses
that can be ridden and enjoyed by amateur owners, and to this effect
we specialize in training the horse and owner together.
We are located in Waynesville, in Southwestern Ohio within a one hour drive of Cincinnati,
Columbus, and Dayton.
