This year we attended shows in Springfield, Ill, Lexington, VA, Asheville, NC, Shelbyville, KY, Springfield, OH, and
Murfreesboro, TN in addition to
Nationals in Perry, Ga. In spite of Mary's second shoulder surgery, La Amistad had
a very exciting show year debuting several of Portal's offspring with great
success. Portal himself showed in Springfield,
OH and Shelbyville, KY winning in the Classic Fino and the Bella Forma Stallions divisions. Lisa Gorsuch's
Portal filly
Esperanza did very well in both the open and A/O divisions winning with Lisa at Asheville! Jeri Tate's Portal gelding Presagio
won many Bella
Forma Classes and Championships and helped her grandson Cooper win his showring debut at the Heritage
show. Paisaje (Portal x Lujuria) did very well showing
regionally and placing in all four classes he showed in at Nationals
including bella forma, pleasure and performance! We were very pleased to have two great youth
riders showing on La
Amistad horses this year. Alaina Hovey showing and winning on Princesa at the Heritage show, and Peyton Bernard showing
and winning on
Paola at Shelbyville, KY (her first show ever) and Springfield, OH, and then going on to place Third National
Champion in the Sub-Jr. Performance class at
Nationals. Preludio, our Pedregal colt out of Pandora, made us very proud
placing Third National Champion in the Bella Forma yearling colts and then going on to win
Reserve National Champion
in the Breeders Sweepstakes colts class. Predilecto (Ambar x Amatista) was the National High Point Bella Forma 3 year
old colt. In
addition to this, Triunfo, the trooper that he still is, won the A/O Classic Fino and Pleasure Stallions both in
Springfield IL, and OH as well as in Open Classic
Fino Stallions in Springfield, IL.
